Piper Robotics Expedition Set Recognized with Best of Show Award at ISTE Live 2026
Play Piper announced today that the Piper Robotics Expedition Set: Physical Computing for Classrooms has received a Best of Show Award at ISTE Live 2026 from Tech & Learning. The annual awards highlight education products selected for innovation, usability, and classroom impact.
The recognition reflects the growing emphasis on hands-on learning experiences in STEM education, as educators seek ways to move students beyond passive screen-based instruction and toward active, creative problem-solving.
The Piper Robotics Expedition Set was recognized for its approach to physical computing, which connects coding with real-world systems through hands-on robotics and engineering design. It enables students to build and program interactive robotic systems while developing computational thinking, problem-solving, and collaboration skills through project-based learning.
Students begin by building the Piper Make Base Station before progressing into robotics projects such as the Robotic Walker, Robotic Rover, and Game Controller. Through structured STEM missions set within an interactive Mars exploration storyline, students collaborate to solve engineering challenges, test code, and refine designs as they explore how software and hardware interact through physical computing.
This marks Play Piper’s second consecutive Best of Show recognition at ISTE Live, following last year’s awards for the Piper Computer Kit and Enhanced Base Station Curriculum, which received Future’s Best of Show Award from Tech & Learning.
